Do you want to get on stage – Being a performer I know first hand the skills that are necessary (and the one’s which aren’t!) to give your best performance on stage! We’ll develop the skills needed for each style and also ‘tricks of the trade’ to create confident performances every time!
Impress your friends or surprise your partner at your wedding? – I have taught many people who want to learn guitar simply for this, and it’s a pleasure to give them the skills they need to play the songs they love!
Graded Exams – Exams are right for some people, not so for others. Rock school, RGT, ABRSM and Trinity grades can provide a structured course in which you can see your improvement and develop practical skills! If you’re interested in, or need to reach a grade for a college entry I can help you achieve the grade you need! Many of may students have achieved Distinctions and Merits.
Lessons tailored to you
Improve and perfect your playing technique -Explore and develop a new technique!
Whether it’s improving your accuracy, playing faster, advanced alternative/economy picking, hammer on/pull off legato technique, finger picking, tapping, natural/pinch/tapped harmonics, sweep picking, tone colour and expression I can show you the secrets and how to develop them for yourself!
Music Theory you can use! – Music theory is a very important part of developing yourself as a musician, but I believe any theory must be usable and have a practical application – theory ‘on the page’ is useless so with any scale, mode or harmony learnt we will immediately demonstrate it in a song or apply in improvising / writing your own music!
Musical Expression – There’s more to music than just technique, despite this being fun and impressive, musical expression is what really moves a listener, within these lessons we’ll be delving into what makes a solo or melody expressionate and how you can bring out more of you and your style in your playing!
